Yes, you will need your own modem to connect to the internet with your MATE nbn plan.  

If you don’t have a modem, we can provide one when you sign up for a one-time fee. If you already have a router, thanks to our BYO policy, you can use it with our plans at no additional charge. 

If an nbn service hasn’t previously been connected to your property, then a technician will need to install the nbn equipment. The technician will require access to the property in order to install the nbn modem and nbn connection box. You’ll need to be home when they arrive. 

If your home has already been connected to the nbn, a technician is not needed to set up your MATE home internet connection. All we need to do is simply transfer the service. Usually, this will only take a few hours. However, in some cases, it may take up to 3 business days.
