what does “residential grade” internet service mean?

We can definitely provide internet for businesses but all MATE internet services are classified as residential grade.

nbn offers several Traffic Classes of services to phone and internet service providers, and each Traffic Class has a different primary purpose.

MATE services operate on Traffic Class 4 (TC 4), which is designed for general internet data for home/residential use.

Business-grade nbn services operate on Traffic Class 2 (TC 2). They are designed to provide access to high-performance data for applications and services that require consistent, predictable download and upload speed requirements – such as IPTV, video conferencing, e-commerce and business-critical cloud services.

TC 2 business-grade services also offer increased service-level agreements (SLA) in the event of faults/outages.

MATE does not offer business-grade services.
