⚠️ Telstra's 3G network has now shutdown. Text '3G' to 3498 to check your device. Incompatible handsets will be blocked from accessing the network, more info here
There are several reasons that will prevent you from getting an adsl or adsl2+ service.
These include:
- Transmission loss is too high, or you’re too far away from the telephone exchange;
- No free adsl ports available at the exchange;
- Incompatible line – RIM, meaning there is another connection point between your address and the local telephone exchange. These devices at the extra connection points are traditionally incompatible with adsl;
- Incompatible line – Pair Gain, meaning that the line is shared or split.
These reasons above only affect the minority of customers.
Once we receive an application and perform a detailed service qualification check, we can then advise if you will be able to get an adsl service. If we are unable to get you connected, you will not be liable for any charges and will receive a full refund if we have processed any payments.
MATE is no longer providing new ADSL internet plans. nbn has been rolling out a national broadband infrastructure project to all Australians that is replacing the older ADSL network.
