⚠️ Telstra's 3G network has now shutdown. Text '3G' to 3498 to check your device. Incompatible handsets will be blocked from accessing the network, more info here
If this device is not already installed in your home, on the day of an FTTP installation, someone over the age of 18 needs to be home to authorise the work as the nbn technician will do the following:
- Connect a fibre optic cable from your street to an nbn™ utility box installed on the outside of your home;
- Drill a small hole through your wall and feed the fibre optic cable from the outside into the nbn™ connection box, also called a Network Termination Device (NTD).
To connect to the internet on an FTTP connection, you will require a compatible router with a WAN port that will plug into the nbn™ NTD. You can use an existing router/modem (BYO), or you can purchase a modem/router from us.
More information about nbn™ Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) can be found on the nbn™ website.
