It is the carriers (Telstra) obligation, to ensure both the phone line and the adsl Internet service are activated and working up to the Network Boundary. This is the line up to the first socket but not the condition of the wall socket. For example, if the cable has been disconnected from the wall socket or the wall socket is damaged, this is considered an Internal issue that does not fall under Telstra’s responsibility and you will need a private technician to resolve this at your own cost.
Apartment Block or multi-dwelling unit (MDU) with an MDF (Main Distribution Frame)
It is the carriers (Telstra) obligation, to ensure both the phone line and the adsl Internet service are activated and working up to the Network Boundary. This is the MDF (Main Distribution Frame) in an apartment block or multi-dwelling unit. The MDF has two sides: A side (Telstra side) and B side (customer/internal side). The responsibility of the internal building wiring from the B side of the MDF is ultimately up to the Real Estate/Landlord and Customer to keep maintained and in working order.
