What does typical busy period download speed mean?
The typical busy period download speed listed on each MATE nbn™ plan is the average speed experienced by a selection of MATE users between the hours of 7pm and 11pm.
The actual speed you will experience on a MATE nbn™ plan depends on many factors such as the nbn™ technology that is available at your home, the quality of your modem/router, internal wiring in your home, the distance between your Wi-Fi modem/router and your devices, electrical and Wi-Fi interference, network or internet congestion, the hardware and software you use, the location of your data source and weather or infrastructure faults.
If your service is delivered over nbn™ copper infrastructure, it is possible that you may not ever be able to achieve the speed tier speeds. If this is the case, we will recommend or move you to a speed tier appropriate for your circumstances.
What is the bundle & save offer?
Our bundle and save offer means that a $10.00 discount will be applied to your internet service each month if there is an eligible MATE mobile service(s) on the account at the time of billing.
For example, our No Worries nbn 100/20 plan is normally $90 per month – if you add a MATE mobile service to the same account, a $10.00 discount will be applied, reducing the monthly nbn plan fee to $80 per month. Combine this with the MATE30 offer and you’ll pay just $50 per month for the first six months!
You can always add services to your account later and still obtain the bundle offer, too! For example, if you have nbn only, you can add a mobile plan to the account later to receive the bundle discount once your mobile service is activated.
Are there any hidden fees or charges?
Absolutely not!
Transparency is key for us. The price you see when selecting your plan is what you pay. And remember, there are no lock-in contracts, so you’re free to adjust your services as you see fit without any hidden fees.
What mobile network does MATE use?
MATE uses parts of Telstra’s 5G, 4G and 3G mobile networks. The service provides 5G Coverage reaching at least 75% of the Australian population. The Telstra Wholesale mobile coverage area footprint reaches more than 98.8% of the Australian population and covers more than 1.6 million square kilometres of the Australian landmass.

How does the no lock in contracts work? Does this mean I can cancel at anytime?
Exactly right! At MATE, we want to keep you because you love our service, not because you’re tied down.
If you decide to leave, you can do so without any exit fees or penalties.
